tures

Sculptor and art philosopher Bjørn Nørgaard is behind this series of seven sculptural candles (H 45 CM) that communicate a break with expectations of permanence in sculpture and insight into his conceptual realm ATYPIA.

Each sculpture is an archetype of the realm Atypia which Bjørn Nørgaard has applied to a number of works since 2004. Including these sculptures.

In the ‘60s we were determined to go beyond the notion of art as a reflection of life in order to fuse art with reality. Art was seen as a force of change to further develop our society and our lives; reality itself became art's material.

This idea is still prevalent in contemporary art; yet, as an independent method of comprehension, art must have its own forum—its own expressive space.
